Franklin Elementary School

The Franklin Elementary School PTA got everyone in on the Auction Action -"it created a lot of buzz around the school". Their cMarket online fundraiser proved to be so successful that they raised enough money for new school supplies and electronics including classroom Smart Boards, computers and DVD players. They were also able to allocate funds for additional teachers' assistants, and new enrichment programs such as music, art, science and health programs.

"Franklin's Black & White Bash" auction featured over 600 desirable items for their community to bid on. One of the more popular categories in their auction was "Art & Collectibles", raising more than $18,500 for the school. The category also contained the two highest grossing items for the school - a Julius Shulman Photograph earning $5,500, an Astrid Preston Painting that sold for $2,400. "People loved using cMarket, and because it's a website they passed it along to their friends and families, it made our auction base that much larger!"

With such an immense catalog, Franklin Elementary School offered something for everyone to take advantage of. Therefore, they sent out a number of email messages through cMarket's Auction Manager to advertise their items and to gain support for the school's fundraiser. Among the emails that they sent, close to half resulted in participants clicking over to Franklin's Black & White Bash auction site.

The school's proactive PTA promoted the fundraiser to garner support for their school. They were successful at collecting a range of donations that would appeal to their constituency, and they took advantage of cMarket's capabilities to foster interest in the online catalog. As a result, the Franklin Elementary School raised more than $58,500 for their school.
