Since 2006, Camillus House has steadily increased revenue and enhanced their fundraising year after year with cMarket. Veterans of online fundraising, in 2007 alone they were able to raise over $150,000 for their humanitarian efforts.
In addition to benefiting their own programs, Camillus House ran the Miami Wine & Food Festival online auction in the spring to raise funds for the United Way of Miami-Dade. An organization, like their own, that addresses the growing health and social services needs in the community. Proceeds from the auction went to provide food, shelter, housing, rehab treatment and healthcare to the poor and homeless in their areas.
True to the auction's name, the Miami Food & Wine Festival online auction featured over 148 items, including an impressive list of wine and spirits valued at over $141,000. They offered 107 different types of wines and raised $86,424 from their selections. Camillus House activated the “Buy Now” feature on their auction site and raised $6,500 from immediate purchases.
Throughout their auction, Camillus House kept their community informed of new items and hot deals by sending out a number of emails through cMarket's email tool. In addition, they opted to be included in BiddingForGood.com, cMarket's free online auction portal, to give the public a chance to bid on their catalog. BiddingForGood.com helped to double the amount of bids that were placed and brought in close to $29,000 of their auction revenue.
