ASAE & the Center for Association Leadership
Linked by a common belief that associations have the power to transform society for the better, ASAE & the Center for Association Leadership provides resources, programs and advocacy to over 22,000 member associates. They support professionals and help them achieve their goals through connection and education. They produce learning experiences, publish a number of journals and periodicals, provide tools on the web, conduct market research and host annual events.
ASAE & the Center have run multiple auctions with cMarket. Comfortable with online fundraising, they know how to maximize cMarket’s resources to run successful auctions. Since their first online auction in 2004, they have consistently increased revenue for programs, and have raised funds for their joint organization.
To prepare for their most recent auction, ASAE & the Center created custom categories such as “Association Products” and “Consulting Services” that attracted the attention of their member bidding community. The “Meeting Packages” category, an industry favorite, earned the highest combined revenue and raised over $70,000 for the organization. The Canada Meetings Package in Vancouver alone earned $7,800. ASAE & the Center were able to solicit catalog items from their many business contacts. They received donations including a “Gift Certificate to Elegant Washington DC Restaurants”, “A Weekend Package for 2 at the Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa”, and the opportunity to attend the “Fresh Look Brand Marketing Retreat”; however, it was a South African getaway that earned the highest bid raising $14,600 for their group.
In addition to the first class offerings found in their online auction, ASAE & the Center used some of cMarket’s Best Practice techniques that they learned from previous auctions. They developed an informative homepage that not only promoted their fundraiser, but that also educated their bidders.
Once again, ASAE & the Center for Association Leadership benefited from a cMarket auction. They were able to raise more than $177,000 for their knowledge and experiential resources, learning programs and improved services for their member community.
