Jon Carson is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of cMarket, Inc., the leading provider of online auction fundraising services. Under Jon's direction, cMarket has formed relationships with thousands of local and national nonprofit organizations including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the PTA, United Way, Junior Achievement and Jewish Community Centers of America, together raising over $45 million to date. His successful development model has catapulted the company to the forefront of Internet fundraising solutions. |
Jon is recognized for his commitment to mission-based businesses that promote social reform. His commercial objectives have centered around establishing companies that not only enjoy a great deal of financial success, but that also provide for the greater good.
Prior to cMarket, he established the Family Education Network (www.fen.com); an Internet based company that offers schools the opportunity to develop a web presence, and provides an informational portal for teachers, students, parents and administrative staff. His involvement in the Family Education Network produced partnerships with America Online, the National PTA, AT&T, the National School Board Association, Microsoft, Harcourt and Reading is Fundamental (RIF). Jon facilitated the acquisition of the Family Education Network to Pearson, and it has subsequently become the largest education site on the Internet. Jon has also held positions in prominent organizations including the global consulting firm of McKinsey & Company and Boeing
Jon is dedicated to building cross sector partnerships between public and private organizations in an effort to encourage participation in those businesses that benefit change. He's served on boards for the National PTA, National School Boards Foundation, the Boston Children's Museum, and the Small Business Association of New England (SBANE). He currently serves on the board for the e-Philanthropy Foundation and NetImpact. Jon received a Bachelors Degree from Babson College and earned a Masters Degree in Public and Private Management from Yale University. He couples a business sense with a sense of humor, and balances the fast paced world of a new business enterprise with family values and quality of life. Jon currently resides in the Boston area with his wife and two young children.
