Jon Carson - Chairman & CEO
Jon is a nationally recognized entrepreneur with a passion for mission-based social entrepreneurship. Other than brief stints at Boeing and McKinsey & Company, he has always worked on new ventures. He has founded and profitably sold three companies in which no investor has ever lost money. Cumulatively, Jon has returned in excess of $175 million to investors, cash on cash.
Jon's most recent company was FamilyEducation Network (Fen.com), which offered web services to local schools as well as a network of websites for parents, children, and teachers using a unique public/private partnership model, ultimately becoming the largest education website on the Internet.
He serves on the boards of the Boston Children's Museum, the e-Philanthropy Foundation, and NetImpact - a national organization of college and MBA chapters promoting social entrepreneurship. Jon has funded multiple lectures on social entrepreneurship at Yale and Babson College. He has previously also served on the boards of the National PTA, National School Boards Foundation, and the Small Business Association of New England (SBANE).
Jon lives in the Boston area with his wife and has recently discovered the wonders of fatherhood.
Harris Fishman - Chief Financial Officer
Hutch has worked with a number of high- profile emerging and publicly held companies within diverse industries including software, telecommunications, and new media.
He has served as the founding CFO of the following companies: Sonus Networks (Nasdaq-SONS), the FamilyEducation Network (acquired by Pearson), Viaweb (acquired by Yahoo!), Winphoria Networks (acquired by Motorola) and VideoServer (Nasdaq-EZEN).
Hutch, a certified public accountant, was previously a senior manager at Deloite & Touche and co-founder of the Boston office's High Technology and Emerging Business Group.
Todd Rodgers - Chief Technology Officer
Todd has been working in the computer technology space for over 20 years. Prior to joining cMarket he was Chief Technology Officer at the Central Media Group for Pearson Education where he directed a staff of 25 professionals. Prior to Pearson, Todd was Chief Technology Officer at Voter.com, and before that at Delphi Internet Services, an early Internet ISP.
Todd started his career in computer science as a researcher at IBM in the Watson Research Center. He has a total of 17 publications, presentations, and invited lectures, as well as two U.S. patents.
Lisa Besteni - Vice President, Project Management
Lisa Besteni joined cMarket in May of 2003 to develop and manage the cMarket product line. Lisa comes to cMarket with 9 years of leadership and management experience in the software and internet industry. Most recently Lisa managed the CourseCompass product at Pearson Education (Addison Wesley, Prentice Hall, Benjamin Cummings) within the higher education textbook courseware division (www.coursecompass.com).
Lisa began her product career managing four online product offerings for FamilyEducation Network, the web's leading source of educational content, resources, and shopping for parents, teachers, and kids and the largest education website on the Internet (www.fen.com). She has also worked in the corporate crisis management arena as well as the venture capital space.
Michelle Greenleaf - Vice President, Engineering
Michelle was one of the original staff at cMarket coming on board to design and develop the initial auction platform. Michelle brings over 20 years of development, architecture and management experience to cMarket that spans the Defense, Controller, and Internet industries.
Besides early career experiences at General Electric, Bailey Controls (now ABB), and General Dynamics, Michelle held positions in several startups, including Tripod, and HTMLGear, which were acquired by Lycos, and Onclave, Inc., an early blogging site. Michelle also took on the transformation of MindBranch, Inc. from a brick-and-mortar company to the web.
Mike McInnis - Vice President, Marketing
Mike has over 15 years experience in the digital and direct marketing space, notably with large integrated programs using multiple communication channels. Through the application of his professional experience, Mike provides cMarket with a deep understanding of how to develop, implement and analyze a broad range of marketing initiatives to help ensure that the non-profit organizations, sponsors, partners and consumers that leverage cMarket's cause-based auction marketplace are achieving their goals.
Before joining cMarket, Mike served as Vice President, Marketing Director at Digitas, a leading interactive marketing agency and consulting firm. During his 8 years at Digitas, Mike helped lead a variety of client engagements including, General Motors Corporation, The National Football League and Cingular Wireless. Prior to working at Digitas Mike spent almost 5 years at Arnold Communications working on the Bell Atlantic, Volkswagen and Allied Signal accounts.
Mike is a member of the Ad Club of Boston and Direct Marketing Association and is an involved alumnus of the University of Vermont and Providence Country Day School. Mike lives outside Boston with his wife and three boys where he is active coaching a variety of his kid's sports teams.
David Mello - Vice President, Client Services
David joins cMarket from Kewill Systems Plc, a long-time innovator in delivering profitability through global trade and fulfillment, where he served as the Vice President of Operations. David was responsible for technical support and training, contract management, order fulfillment, and information technology.
At Kewill, he participated as a member of the Senior Management Team which included providing input to strategic direction, as well as mergers and acquisitions. David was also a member of the Business Process Initiative team which was charged with designing and implementing cross-functional processes to achieve maximum efficiency and return on investment.
David brings over twenty years of professional experience in a variety of technical, customer care, and sales management positions to cMarket. He has also worked in the transportation consulting arena as well as the disaster backup and recovery space.
Devin Golden - Vice President, Sales
Devin joined cMarket in April 2007 as Vice President of Sales. He has spent the last twelve years in senior sales, management and leadership for several highly successful venture backed startup companies in New England.
Devin spent eight years at Monster.com (NASDAQ; MNST) joining the initial management team as employee #12. He was the third member of the Monster sales team holding the roles of Regional Telesales Manager and Regional VP of Telesales. During his tenure, he was a driving force in growing the Telesales Revenue from $1M to $250M, expanding to four sales center locations in the US and Europe and helped solidify Monster's position as the leading global online career site.
After Monster he joined Constant Contact, helping to build it into the industry leader in email marketing targeting small businesses and nonprofits. Devin started their direct sales organization and was responsible for day-to-day management and strategic direction scaling it to over 20 team members.
Devin earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Boston College. He lives west of Boston with his wife and 2 daughters where he coaches youth sports.
Paul Sheppard - Vice President, Product Management
Paul has been working in the high tech space for over 10 years. Prior to joining cMarket in 2003, Paul was the Director of Product Development at Family Education Network/The Learning Network where he was responsible for The Learning Network's consumer market sites and successfully migrated key products from ad revenue model to subscription model.
Paul's multi-dimensional experience in the online space has included content development and programming in addition to managing editorial, production and engineering staff. In a previous life Paul was a composition and literature instructor at Northeastern University where he enjoyed shaping the minds of tomorrow.
Bill Yucatonis - Vice President, Online Marketing
Bill Yucatonis applies the whole of his experience, a rare blend of corporate strategy, marketing, IT and creative design, to guide the growth of cMarket's e-commerce services including cMarket Place, a catalog of hot-selling auction items available to non-profits, and BiddingForGood.com, a centralized portal where cMarket brings together cause-conscious auction lovers with non-profit organizations hosting cMarket auctions.
Previously, Yucatonis co-founded eXpert SATELLITE, Inc., an award-winning DIRECTV dealer and third largest nationally, as its vice president of marketing. There, he developed the marketing strategy, media planning and advertising collateral for online, affiliate, and partner programs, as well as traditional media like direct response TV, radio and print. He was also director of product development for Roxy.com and EverythingWireless.com, focusing on product, marketing, and sales development for satellite TV, wireless, and consumer electronics. He has advised a number of companies on business development and marketing strategies worldwide.
Yucatonis is a member of many industry associations including the Boston Ad Club, BIMA (Boston Interactive Media Association) and MITX (Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange).
