2003 Louis Jadot Chassagne-Montrachet (White Burgundy) 750 ml, $50 Retail
Dry, slightly floral nose; herby but not green. Honey and lime begins to come through... palate is very well structured; nicely layered fruit minerality with hints of woodspice, merging on a very long finish. Bit sexy too.
1993 Louis Latour Nuits St Georges (Red Burgundy) 750 ml, $50 Retail
This has a polished appearance with a beautiful perfumed nose showing hints of raspberry, strawberry and banana. The wine is supple with a tannic structure stronger than the wines above but with hints of violets on its long finish.
Champagne Taittinger Brut 750 ml, $45 Retail
Shows elegance and finesse, but also an understated power, as the initial richness gives way to a firm structure. Fine length. Awarded a 91-point rating by Wine Spectator.
