Item Description
Intern for a day at Fulton County Juvenile Court, with Ms. Kimberley Borna, Executive Director of the Juvenile Justice Fund. Come tour the court, meet the judges, learn about careers in Juvenile Justice that include attorneys, probation officers, advocates, sheriffs, and forensic evaluators. The Juvenile Justice Fund works in partnership with the Fulton County Juvenile Court to identify and address complex needs of the youth and families under the Court’s jurisdiction. Permission to tour restricted areas of the facility (e.g. holding cells) is required. This opportunity is offered for up to three students to tour the facility together. Lunch included.

What is the Juvenile Justice Fund: The Juvenile Justice Fund (JJF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the Fulton County Juvenile Court to identify and address the myriad of complex needs of the youth and families under the court’s jurisdiction. Needs are addressed by:
- Implementing direct service programs by replication or design of innovative evidence-based practices and services to meet these needs;
- Education and training for professionals, volunteers, and civic organizations;
- Increasing public awareness of juvenile justice and related issues; and
- Advocacy at the state and local level for underserved youth populations.
