Item Description

As seen in Food & Wine magazine this month!

Artist Lisa Neimeth is influenced by the multiples of objects and icons surrounding her. In 1981, she studied ceramics at  Connecticut College and moved to New York City after graduation.  Creating art remained in the background while pursuing Social and Community work, another passion, throughout the five Boroughs. Traveling was key after receiving two Masters Degrees in Social Work and Urban Planning from Columbia University and New York University. She has traveled extensively throughout Mexico, Central and South America and was deeply influenced by color, texture, and forms observed there.

She currently lives and works in San Francisco, drawn there by the open land, light and ocean, and is now moving into a direction inspired by northern New Mexico and the areas around Abiquiu, where the traditions and culture of clay that exist there inspire her and help her integrate the natural world and the objects that inhabit it into her work.
