Biographies:
Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA)
A forceful advocate for families, children, consumers, the environment, and her State of California, Barbara Boxer became a United States Senator in January 1993 after 10 years of service in the House of Representatives. Elected to a third term in 2004, she received more than 6.9 million votes, the highest total for any Senate candidate in American history.
Nicole Boxer (Filmmaker)
Nicole Boxer is a documentary film and television producer based in Washington DC. She is the daughter of United States Senator Barbara Boxer and like her mother, shares a passion for politics and is an advocate of environmental protection. Nicole has worked as producer on numerous documentary films including 2005’s South By Southwest Film Festival winner, ‘Mojados’ and ‘The Last Party’, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, which chronicled the election of 2000, and it’s aftermath in the Supreme Court. She was a producer on the television series ‘On the Road in America’ and the award winning PBS series, ‘Avoiding Armageddon’ where she traveled to Africa to produce a story on AIDS.
