Martinez, a seasoned player, has worked with Norman Hedman, Charlie Palmieri, George Cables, Carlos "Patato" Valdez, Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros, Arthur Blythe, Chico & Arturo O'Farrill, Jimmy Sabater, Johnny Colón, Oscar Hernandez, Ray Santos and Hilton Ruíz.

The album is an unexpected treasure... alive with funk, character, style and swing — qualities obtained with the deft help of sax player Max Schweiger and trombonist J. Walter Hawkes. Also features inventive playing by percussionists Wilson "Chembo" Corniel, Renato Thoms and pianist Misha Tsiganov.
