Item Description
Jane O'Hara: Contemporary realism painter
Born in Connecticut, Jane now divides her time between Little Compton, RI, and Boston. She received her BFA from Boston University School of Fine Arts in 1978. In 1986, she formed O’Hara Arts, a mural and decorative painting company.
In recent years, Jane’s studio work has reflected her passion for animals. With commissions of animal companions, donation of her artwork to animal groups, and paintings in shows, she is able to communicate her vision of the animal condition. Both the insensitivity and conversely, the pampering and casting of human traits onto animals by so many disturbs and intrigues Jane, and she uses both humor and irony to comment on these in her artwork.
