ARTIST AT MONHEGAN ISLAND BELL, Watercolor by Benneville Strohecker

Item Information

Estimated Value $500.00

Item Number 108

Item Description

Priceless to any collection - Artist Benneville Strohecker captures the peaceful seaside watercolor of a special place on the Maine coast.

The focus of his painting is on the bell by the lighthouse on the island, a subject of several of Jamie Wyeth's paintings. The artist, under a bright red umbrella, lends a touch of color.

After you are mezmerized by the serenity of this particular work of art, you feel like you have traveled back in time or at least a retreat to one of your favorite seaside destinations in New England.  A superb addition to any collection.  Benneville tells us this particular piece was painted it in a workshop on Monhegan Island in 2002 with Paul George. (Paul is well known for his workshops internationally).

Although I’ve been drawing, painting, and writing poetry ever since I can remember, I started to give it my full attention about fifteen years ago, and began to study with internationally respected artists. I am an Artist-Member of the Marblehead Arts Association where I continue to have solo exhibits. I had a solo exhibit in April 2006 in the Gallery of Trinity Episcopal Church, Concord, Massachusetts. Perhaps I am best known as the founder of Harbor Sweets, Inc. the internationally known gift chocolate company in Salem, Massachusetts.(My clients often receive a gift box of Harbor Sweets with their purchase). I welcome visitors to my seaside gallery/home in Marblehead, where I live with my wife, Dr. Martha Dunn-Strohecker. www.benneville.com
