From Yuki Kato's research in China, a female figure in costume with a headdress contains a stenciled floral pattern that blends into a floral white lace on a pale brown silk background. Mounted dyed-cloth shikishi 9 1/2" x 10 3/4"
Bio: YUKI KATO is a studio artist and designer in the Watanabe Textile Studio. Her background combines both printmaking and fiber and she has worked with rozome for over thirty years. Kato's exhibitions and awards include the Shin-Kogei Yomiuri Prize and Recognition Prize, the Seiryuten and Nitten annual exhibitions, the Contemporary Craft Exhibition at the Museum of Kyoto and solo shows at the Heian and Maronie galleries, Kyoto.
