Bio: KEIJIN IHAYA is a professor of textile design at Kyoto City University of Arts, Kyoto, Japan. An award winning artist and leader in the rozome community, he has been a juror for the Kyoten, Shinkogei and Nitten exhibitions more than 11 times. He has been cited as a strong supporter of younger artists sharing his "philosophy of simplicity, a strong connection with nature as source and a clear vision. Ihaya has exhibited extensively throughout Japan since 1978 as well as in Edinburgh, Scotland and Seoul, Korea. He has won numerous awards including the Shumei Cultural Prize and the coveted Tokusen - First Prize in the prestigious Nitten Exhibition. His work is in public and private collections.
