The Yerba Buena's 40th Anniversary Spring Auction was a great success. Thank you all for taking the time to support YBPFA. Congratulations to everyone who: Proceeds go to YBPFA in order to support our children. The Yerba Buena PFA raises money each year to provide our children with weekly music, computer instruction and bi-weekly physical education programs. The PFA also pays for art programs, reading specialists, classroom aides, library books and educational incentive programs. This year our PFA must raise approximately $180,000 to fund these enrichment programs, and we hope we can count on your support. Although the Las Virgenes Unified School District offers our children a fantastic core education, our state’s budget crisis translates into our district receiving millions less in funding this year. Community support is especially crucial to invest in our children’s education as they are the future of our community. On Saturday, May 30th from 4-9 PM at the Yerba Buena campus, we had our fabulous 40th Anniversary Family Festival with Silent Auction and Live Auction of some exciting items. I hope you enjoyed the food, fun, games, musical performances, Memorabilia display, and all the activities including the Hula Hoop Contest (with the Hula Off winner getting a customized hula hoop from Genny at www.fruithoopz.com ). Joe Hecht and his crew from Time of Your Life Entertainment did an amazing job entertaining us. Mama Rita's and Willie's BBQ had delicious food and we also had an amazing Bake Sale of yummy treats as well as popcorn & snowcones. Thank you to all those who worked tirelessly, especially Superwoman/Energizer Bunny Denise Hartman, Leslie Schwarz, Michelle Mustain, Laura Leininger, Michelle O'Brien, Suzie Boots and Lisa Reeder who were all there all day until the bitter end. A very special thanks to my sister Dana! Thank you to our generous sponsors: Team Concept Development Services, Time of Your Life Entertainment, Mr. Noyes and the Isroelit and Kilkenny families. Our donors rock and we really appreciate making our auction possible. So many people worked so hard and it's not just me who appreciates it.
