Birth of the Shambhala Sun Foundation
The Shambhala Sun, the most widely read Buddhist-based magazine in North America, and Buddhadharma: the Practitioner's Quarterly, an in-depth journal of Buddhist teachings, are now published by the Shambhala Sun Foundation--an independent non-profit operating in the United States and Canada. The Shambhala Sun Foundation has a deep commitment to presenting the perspectives of all genuine Buddhist traditions through its publications and other ventures.
The catalog for the 2009 Shambhala Sun Foundation online auction is growing at a phenomenal rate with fabulous new items being added daily. See the special "Catalog continues to grow" section below. This year's variety of offerings has something for everyone.
The sidebar to the left is your gateway to previewing the catalog as it grows. See what Practice Materials holds in store, or Retreats and Vacations, Books and DVD's or Events and Services.
NOW AVAILABLE: the full story on the Thich Nhat Hanh original calligraphy pictured here. Thay completed this and seven other calligraphies for the benefit of the Foundation when Melvin McLeod, Editor-in-chief, visited and interviewed him in September.
This and all the other wonderful items in our auction have been generously donated by artists, writers and advertisers featured in our magazines and by Foundation supporters.

One of the unique things about an online auction is that you receive in addition to giving. So, mark your calendar for NOVEMBER 23, when the Shambhala Sun Foundation's 3rd Annual Auction will begin. From original artwork to rejuvenating retreats, this is where giving and receiving meet.
