The 5th Annual Online Auction is now open! The auction will run from November 16, 2009 to December 14, 2009, with proceeds going to Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine (SARSSM). Remember that all proceeds from this auction help fund all of SARSSM's free and confidential support, advocacy, education and prevention programs.

Every day SARSSM is contacted by someone who has experienced some form of sexual violence. Last year, SARSSM's staff and volunteers answered over 2,131 calls to our Crisis & Support Line, accompanied 162 victims to the hospital, police, court and other appointments following a sexual assault and supported 188 victims through the criminal justice system. Each of these survivors is a friend, coworker, or loved one. Undoubtedly, in a world where sexual assault is more common than left-handedness or heart disease, there is a strong likelihood you will know someone who has been affected by this crime.
SARSSM's school-based violence prevention programs are groundbreaking and hugely popular. SARSSM works from the belief that if we can teach our children non-violence, that we can prevent future acts of sexual assault. Last year, we reached out to 7,636 students. Your support will allow us to reach even more students, and help us to create a healthy, hopeful, violence-free tomorrow.
