Park West Cooperative Nursery School was established in 1971 by a group of parents who wanted to provide a nursery school for their children in which parents were involved in all aspects of their child's first school experience.
Park West's curriculum is play based and influenced by the work of the Jean Piaget. Park West children are encouraged to make choices, create rules, and initiate activities. Our guiding principle is that young children learn by constructing knowledge themselves. Rather than learning dictated facts, Park West children learn about numbers, literacy, arts, and science through hands-on experiences and small-group activities.

As with many schools, tuition at Park West does not cover the full cost of running the school. Annually, Park West parents hold fundraising events to raise money for the school's operating expenses and to provide financial aid to students. Last year we raised over $120,000 to bridge the gap between our operating expenses and tuition income. We are counting on your participation to achieve similar results this year.
