The Auction May Be Gone, But Our Mission Goes On!
Even though our auction has ended, our organizations and our missions have not. The MGA Foundation is the charitable arm of the Metropolitan Golf Association, the nation's second oldest regional golf association representing more than 500 Met Area clubs. Our goal is to build a foundation for the future of golf by bringing the values and traditions of the game to a new generation of golfers through innovative programs aimed at underprivileged youth, junior golfers and the physically disabled. These programs include the GOLFWORKS Student Intern program, MGA/MetLife Youth Clinics, Caddie Academies and The First Tee of Metropolitan New York.
The Long Island Caddie Scholarship Fund, established in 1962, provides need-based financial assistance to deserving young men and women who have worked as caddies or in other jobs in service to golf, assisting in the pursuit of a higher education. In the 45-year history of the fund, over 600 college scholarships have been awarded, representing a financial commitment of over $3 million.
