Join us on November 12 at the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University to celebrate our 20 years of service and induct the 2009 Class of Change. The event will feature a VIP reception for partners and friends of Greater DC Cares, an awards ceremony for the inductees, a post-awards ceremony reception, and a silent auction to raise funds for Greater DC Cares programs and services throughout the year.
But before the celebration begins Greater DC Cares will be auctioning off a number of exciting and unique items in our online auction. Items range from a private tour of the Washington Post to a fabulous brunch for two at the Four Seasons Hotel. Click below to view all online auction items. Check back often as we will be adding additional items into the online auction. Good luck and thank you for supporting Greater DC Cares!
Sponsor Class of Change 2009!
The Class of Change brings together hundreds of people to honor and celebrate emerging and lifelong leaders in philanthropy, service, and volunteerism in the Washington, DC region. In 2008, we were proud to have honored a group of ten outstanding leaders who have had a tremendous impact, through extraordinary service, on the health of the Washington region and all who live here.
This year, we look forward to celebrating another dynamic group of individuals committed to the community, along with a host of corporate and community partners, as the culmination of Greater DC Cares’ 20th anniversary year.
Founded in 1989 as a traditional volunteer center placing adults on volunteer projects such as neighborhood beautification or serving meals to families in need, GDCC is now the region’s largest coordinator of volunteerism. We continue to support hands on volunteer projects in the community, while concurrently strengthening nonprofits through an integrated system of capacity-building programs including board leadership recruitment and placement, skilled volunteer placement, staff training, and executive coaching, and so on. Greater DC Cares provides a comprehensive approach to strengthening nonprofits and communities to better impact the key issues in the Greater DC region.
