2009 marks the 400th anniversary of French explorer and cartographer Samuel de Champlain’s travels to the lake that now bears his name. And Vermont is celebrating!

To help commemorate this year-long celebration in Vermont, we are auctioning off 400 limited-edition numbered license plates!

Your winning bids will help fund Vermont's year-long celebration of the lake, which will include theatrical performances, heritage festivals, art & craft shows, competitions, symposiums, films, books, musical tributes and so much more. 

Funds will also help maintain the beautiful Lake Champlain and its surrounding basin. Lake Champlain is a vital natural and economic resource for nearly 600,000 people and an important ecosystem. Visitors from around the world are drawn to its beauty, fish and wildlife, lakeside communities, and recreational opportunities.

All commemorative license plates can be placed on your car though June 30, 2010!
