The 2009 Festival of Trees is now open. The auction will run from November 16, 2009 to November 30, 2009, with proceeds going to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation in order to provide exceptional care for all and create healthy communities. Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise. So, tell your friends, family, community. Let the bidding begin!

Net proceeds from the Festival of Trees will support Lincolnland Hospice and Funding the Future: A campaign to fund the mission and vision of Sarah Bush Lincoln in the community.

Campaign 2010: Funding the Future will raise $8 million over the next five years:

$5.5 million will help
    • Expand and renovate the Emergency Department
    • Renovate the inpatient surgery area
    • Provide private rooms for all patients

$2.5 million will help
    • Address the issues of childhood obesity and
    • Inactivity through the following Healthy Kidz Programs:

Project FIT America - A cooperative program providing area schools with equipment and educational plans for physical activity.

Mobile Dental Van - A mobile dental van from which restorative care is provided to rural communities, increasing access to care.

JumpSTART - A camp that gives at-risk pre-teen and teen-age children the tools to make healthy choices involving nutrition, physical activity and self esteem.

KickSTART - A fun and engaging educational mobile unit used as an educational resource for children, parents and teachers.

KidzFEST - A hands-on event for the community which teaches healthy lifestyles in a fun and family-focused learning environment.

I Sing the Body Electric - A nationally recognized program which uses the arts to talk with teens about healthy lifestyles.
