The Haas Foundation Washington Schools Online Auction is now open. The auction will run through June 8, 2009.
The Saul and Dayee G. Haas Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life among needy secondary students in communities throughout the state of Washington. By fulfilling our mission we are supporting schools to encourage students to stay in school, return to school or get involved within their learning community.

A secondary school is defined as middle, junior high or high, targeting grades six through twelve. K-8 or K-12 schools are also acceptable down to the sixth grade level. Schools apply to the Foundation for assistance with one or more children.
Our case statement:
Proceeds from this online cMarket Auction and other fund raisers allow Haas Foundation to;
1. Support our partner schools by teaming up with each school and supporting Washington State Secondary Schools (that we currently fund) with a year round online auction fundraiser. When partner schools collaborate with Haas Foundation, the school provides the item, helps to promote their items and this site, Haas facilitates the auction and the school personnel ships/delivers the item to the winner within the week the auction closes. Auction items submitted for a specific school will be identified so donors know how to support their favorite school!
Note: Haas Foundation has paid all the set-up expenses and as a partner with over 600 secondary schools is now providing the infrastructure & support for their grantees to raise money for their Haas fund through the use of this online auction.
School and Haas split proceeds 50-50% unless prenegotiated. From the Haas portion of the proceeds 13.4% is taken to pay for credit processing and auction item fees.
2. To raise matching for the Haas portion of the challenge grant (matching).
