About Bottom Line
Bottom Line was founded 12 years ago to help disadvantaged students get in to college, graduate from college, and go far in life, by providing one-on-one guidance and support. Since then, we have helped thousands of young people work toward their dream of a college degree.
This year, Bottom Line will provide support to 625 high school seniors in Boston and Worcester as they navigate the complex college application process. At the same time, we will continue to provide guidance to 750 college students from Boston and Worcester as they work toward a college degree. We will support each of those students for up to six years so that they have the continued guidance they need to earn a college degree.
So far, 98% of our high school seniors have been accepted to at least one college, and 74% of our college students have graduated in six years or less, three times the average graduation rate for students from similar backgrounds.
By bidding in this auction, you can help Bottom Line continue to grow so that more students than ever have the support they need to get in, graduate and go far.
Thank You and Happy Bidding!
Our Students
When you bid in our auction, you're not just helping Bottom Line, you're helping the students we support. There will be nearly 1,400 high school and college students in our program this year. Each student faces difficult and unique obstacles on their path to a college degree. However, with consistent guidance and support, these students can and will overcome the obstacles they face.

Hawa Umarova graduated from Chelsea High School in 2008. When she was ten, she was forced to flee from Chechnya to escape the war. Hawa was a diligent student in high school, but she struggled with math and SATs and was not accepted to her top choice colleges. With few options, Bottom Line helped Hawa apply for the Mass College of Liberal Arts, which has rolling admissions, and advocated for her so she could be accepted into the summer program to receive in-depth support in math and writing while earning credits. Hawa is now the VP of her class, she made Dean
Jahfree Duncan came to Bottom Line in 2004 as a senior at Another Course to College. Jahfree was a bright student, but his grades did not reflect his intelligence. His low GPA limited his options, so Bottom Line introduced Jahfree to the Transitional Year Program at Brandeis University, where students are enrolled in rigorous college prep classes, and are often admitted to Brandeis after. Jahfree excelled in his classes and was accepted to Brandeis. He will graduate in May. Jahfree is currently interviewing with several companies and is excited to meet the challenges of the "real world."
